Sofia Tranchina is an Italian journalist and photographer, member of the Italian Order of Journalists, with six years of experience reporting from crisis and conflict zones across the Middle East. HEFAT-trained, she works on medium- and long-term projects combining on-the-ground reporting, photography, field research, and analysis, with a focus on how crisis shapes the lives of individuals and communities. Her work has appeared in Italian publications including Linkiesta and Il Foglio, and she writes Over the Barbed Wire, an independent Substack on conflict and the Middle East.
