Giovanna De Maio is visiting fellow at the Center on the United States and Europe at Brookings. With a background on Russia and international security, as well as on Italy’s relations with Russia, EU and United States, De Maio’s research focuses on Italian domestic and foreign policy. Prior to enrolling into Brookings, De Maio was a Transatlantic post-doctoral fellow at the French Institute for International Affairs (Paris) and at the German Marshall Fund of the United States (Washington, DC).
