David Shambaugh is a professor of political science and international affairs at the George Washington University in Washington DC, as well as a non-resident senior fellow at the Brookings Institution. Shambaugh earned his bachelor's degree from the Elliott School of International Affairs, where he now teaches. He received his M.A. in international affairs from the Johns Hopkins University's Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies, and his PhD in political science from the University of Michigan.
